Ukraine - Kharkov

Because of the growing number of stray animals in the Kharkov streets on February 26, 2010 the ecological security and emergency committee made the following decision:

• remove stray animals’ food supplies by closing dustbins and forbidding people to feed stray animals;

• destroy hideouts that were created for animals by caring people and close access to basements where animals can hide;

• oblige all organizations on whose territories stray animals live to call pest control service (this service’s capture, housing and euthanasia conditions do not correspond to animal protection law act and to morale norms)
